Charles Zuckerman - Actor
Becoming an Actor
I have always enjoyed delivering and hearing great stories. In high school, this lead to several years participating in various productions from comedic skits in talent shows, musicals and serious plays including the Diary of Anne Frank (Hermann van Pels) and Kennedy’s Children (Mark). This experience concluded with a self-written one act, one character play performed at the school’s student directed festival titled Our Death Waits Like… A half hour exploration of ones stages of acceptance approaching death from a terminal disease.
Upon graduation I faced a choice, acting or architecture. Both had been passions for years. Ultimately I opted for design over performance and had a wonderful 25 year career in the architecture and construction world. Having retired, I returned to my other early passion and enrolled in the Acting Certificate Program at San Francisco Community College where I have rediscovered the fun and fulfillment of being on stage.
Since then, I have had several opportunities to act in the works of several classmates. The combination of these pursuit thus far has been the opportunity of playing Thomas Putnam in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. I have immersed myself in understanding roles in ways I hadn’t had the chance or been taught before and am actively looking for new acting opportunities. Below are several short sample of what I have done to date.
